Dr. Anil Phale

Dr. Anil Phale, a distinguished Senior Journalist, plays a pivotal role in championing the cause of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the Apratim Media Foundation.

Currently serving as a Freelance Journalist/Blogger and Newspaper/Media Consultant, Dr. Phale also holds the positions of Chairman (Maharashtra Branch) at UNAccc (Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council) and Managing Director of the Apratim Media Foundation.

Commencing his career as a Rural Reporter in 1988, Dr. Phale has held significant roles in various prominent Marathi daily newspapers, including Saamana, Lokmat, Lokpatra, Lokasha, Devgiri Tarun Bharat, and Gavkari. His journey in these organizations involved serving as Resident Editor, Editor, and Managing Editor. Dr. Phale has contributed to and edited numerous special supplements addressing topics such as Education, Health, Environment, Women Empowerment, Business, and more.

In 2010, Dr. Phale conceptualized and registered a Mega Public Talent Reality Show called ‘Apratim Mahavkta,’ organized across regional levels in Maharashtra during the Golden Jubilee year of the state. This innovative concept, aligned with Agenda 2030, has been adapted and will be implemented throughout the current decade, encompassing all facets of democracy.

With a keen focus on SDGs, Dr. Phale has dedicated his efforts to evaluating the performance of various elements, including Government, Legal Houses, Judiciary, Media, and Citizens. His initiatives have included organizing events, conducting interviews, delivering lectures, and writing articles on diverse issues such as Education, Socio, Politics, Rural Development, Local Bodies, and Imbalanced Development.

Dr. Phale has instituted Journalism Awards through Apratim Media, recognizing and promoting over 200 journalists from Rural and City Reporters to Editors across newspapers, TV News Channels, and Websites. The Chauthastambh (Fourth Estate) Specialized Journalism Awards have been awarded since 2010, acknowledging journalists for their qualitative contributions in areas like Environment, Rural Development, Agriculture, Cooperative Sector, Education, Health, Women Empowerment, Trade & Industry, and Community Development.
