Through the special initiative “AM 2032 Drive – Social Audit Drive”, there is a commitment to promote the localization of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Maharashtra and to ensure that overall development becomes more effective through active public participation. For this purpose, the following initiatives are proposed:

• Awareness programs on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
• Study and evaluation of various government schemes, projects, and development initiatives
• Social audit processes with active citizen participation
• Platforms for dialogue, research, and citizen engagement on development issues
• Implementation of infrastructure projects, welfare schemes, works funded through discretionary funds of public representatives, and various development projects should be aligned with the perspective of sustainable development; otherwise, the concept of development remains incomplete.
• The Government of Maharashtra is also implementing various policies and schemes keeping the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in focus.
• Maharashtra is one of the leading states in India and consistently ranks in the ‘Front Runner’ category in the NITI Aayog SDG Index. According to the ‘SDG India Index 2023–24’ report, India’s composite SDG score stands at 71.
• The State Government has prepared a long-term development vision titled ‘Viksit Maharashtra – 2047’.
